Options for a Summer Day Wedding for Men

It's summer and you have been invited to a day wedding.  Summer day weddings are beautiful affairs because you take all that sunshine, and wrap it around a wonderful event, but what to wear is sometimes tricky.

For men, deciding on what to wear is actually the easy part.

Summer day weddings typically offer two dress styles that might not otherwise be available for an evening wedding.

The Formal Day Wedding

The formal day wedding simply means that a dark suit is most appropriate.  Do wear a necktie and if the colors suit you, (pardon the pun) a pastel colored shirt.  Most appropriate for a formal day wedding would be a navy blue or black suit.  what we picture here is something like a navy blue suit, a pastel pink or yellow shirt with a

necktie in a burgundy overtone.  You can select any combination you wish, but we just wanted to get you thinking along the right lines.  As another alternative, you can select with the outfit we just described a solid silk tie which would be just as elegant for a day wedding without being too overdressed.

Semi Formal Day Wedding
The semi formal day wedding simply means a sports jacket and slacks - do we need to emphasize that sports jacket and slacks means that the jacket and slacks compliment but don't match.  As for a tie, we think that is optional.

If the invitation doesn't specifically indicate that it's formal or informal, we would recommend wearing the sport jacket, complimenting slacks and a wonderful necktie.  You can pick just about any of our neckties or solid color ties for this type of wedding and it would work wonderfully.  Try selecting one of our solid blue ties, solid pink ties or solid red ties and you'll see that the look is simply elegant.

Whatever you decide, a summer day wedding does not call for a tuxedo, so please - don't even think of wearing one unless for some reason, the invitation specifically requests that you wear one.
