What To Wear to a Fall or Winter Day Wedding

Options for a Fall or Winter Day Wedding for Men

Fall and winter day weddings are one of easiest events you can dress for.

However, unlike a summer day wedding, the colors you would select have to be definitely on the darker side.

The Formal Fall or Winter Day Wedding
The formal fall or winter day wedding the, the same rule applies as it does for summer.  Men wear a dark suit.  You will also need a necktie and while a pastel colored shirt would do, a white shirt with a contrasting darker colored necktie would be best.  The more appropriate colors for neckties would always be a darker choice in staying with the formal mood.

The Semi Formal Fall or Winter Day Wedding
For a semi formal fall or winter day wedding, a sport jacket and coordinated slacks will work wonderfully, however unlike summer, your sport jacket should be a darker color such as navy blue, black or dark grey.

With a darker color sport jacket, we would recommend possibly a dark tan, taupe, or medium grey slacks.  If you opt to wear a black sport jacket then we would match that with a medium grey, taupe or dark tan slacks - same as with the navy blue sport jacket option.  If however you decide to wear a medium to darker grey sport jacket, we would recommend you match that with a black or navy blue pair of slacks.

Obviously, for both dress options, since it's winter, a necktie should be worn to add a bit of elegance and formality. If you need to pick a new necktie, we would recommend anything on the darker side from any of our necktie categories or a solid color tie would work very well.

Naturally, if the invitation does specifically call for more formal attire, we would opt for either a simple black tuxedo or simply a black suit, white dress shirt with a black satin bow tie.
